of candidates?

his/her choice?

"Bringing a respect for human dignity to practical politics can be a
daunting task. There is such a wide spectrum of issues involving the
protection of human life and the promotion of human dignity. Good people
frequently disagree on which problems to address, which policies to adopt and
how best to apply them. But for citizens and elected officials alike, the
basic principle is simple: We must begin with a commitment never to
intentionally kill, or collude with the killing, of any innocent human life, no
matter how broken, unformed, disabled, or desperate that life may seem. In
other words, the choice of certain ways of acting is always and radically
incompatible with the love of God and the dignity of the human person created in
His image. Direct abortion is never morally tolerable option."
(U.S. Bishops, "Living the Gospel of Life", 1998, n21.)
Because of the above statement about "living the Gospel of Life",
and because of our religious convictions, we present information about which candidates are "pro-life", based on
available published information.

human life from the moment of conception"...refer to

2. What does the archbishop say?
2a. Archbishop
Harry Flynn [of
the St.
Paul/Mpls. archdiocese prior to 2008] - a quotation from the Catholic Defense League
"The Defender" Oct. 2000--
"Archbishop Harry Flynn in the Catholic Spirit (Oct. 5),
outlined the Catholic teaching on abortion quoting pertinent passages
from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
He made one especially pertinent point when he quoted 2271 from the
Catholic Catechism which says, ' Since the first century, the Church
has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This
teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct
abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or means is
gravely contrary to moral law.'
[And the CCC quotes other sources:] 'You shall not kill the embryo by
abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.' (See
reference 74 in Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), under article
2271.)
Let this Church teaching strengthen our
wills to vote only for pro-life candidates.
2b. Archbishop John Nienstedt

of Minneapolis/St. Paul --- Browse to the statements by Archbishop Nienstedt of
the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN as expressed in the
Catholic Spirit newspaper.[then

"Respect-for-Life, Inc.". is a C
corporation, incorporated in Minnesota in 1999 for the purpose of encouraging good laws for
the health, safety and well being of its citizens. We organized as a
C corporation to allow us to comment more freely [as compared to non-profit
entities] about the issues related to
"pro-life" and "respect for life". Therefore we engage
in doing web site design through our friends at Resource-Web.Net, Inc [www.Resource-Web.Net
] and in doing product design and development through ElectroSoft Engineering,
Inc. [ www.eelectrosoft.net ] to help fund our work and mission. At the same time we
accept your generous contributions to help support our work. Click here to
browse to our sponsors page.
Our work is to encourage people to become more involved in
their respective governments, and to promote better laws for our state and
nation. In fulfilling our mission, various works are performed such as
informing others about pro-life candidates for elections, and supporting other
groups in working toward the goal of creating a culture of life. The
culture of life is defined in the "Gospel of Life" by Pope John Paul
II; [Refer to The Leaflet Missal Company, ISBN 1-885845-03-0] -- Check the Links
page for further information.
Our mission is to promote respect for life by working with those who
want to establish a "culture of life" and who want to promote laws
that allow all people to live peacefully under God's laws while
respecting the life of all including the unborn, the handicapped, the elderly,
the sick and those in poverty.
Our name ... why "Respect-for-Life, Inc."? We find
that (1) it is terribly disappointing that there have now been over 48 million abortions in this country of ours,
USA - where all have the right to life,
liberty and the pursuit of happiness, (2) it is time to remember, as this year's
elections come nearer, that our the US Senate has stalled many pro-life
bills, after these laws have been passed by the US House of Representatives,
and there have been new legislation introduced to try to overturn the ban on
partil birth abortion, and (3) it is an outrage that
not only do the abortion clinics perform killing of nascent children, they also
sell baby parts to the highest bidder! Refer to article available from Human
Life Alliance [651-484-1040] located in St. Paul, MN. Refer also to their
website: http://www.humanlife.org .
Donation are appreciated to aid us
in our work and mission. Thanks very
much!
